Fees & billing
Eagleby Doctors is a mixed-billing general practice. We believe patients should understand the likely cost of their healthcare before their appointment. Below you'll find consultation fees, Medicare rebates, bulk billing information and selected private service fees.
Mixed billing
We want patients to understand their likely costs before they book. The following groups are usually bulk billed at Eagleby Doctors.

Health Care Card holders
DVA Gold Card holders
Bulk billing is not guaranteed and remains at the discretion of the treating doctor. Eligibility may depend on the consultation type, appointment length and clinical circumstances. If a private fee applies, we will aim to make this clear before your appointment.

Billing questions
Most children under 16 years of age, Pensioner Concession Card holders, Health Care Card holders and DVA Gold Card holders are bulk billed. Bulk billing is not guaranteed and remains at the discretion of the treating doctor, the consultation type and the clinical circumstances.
Most eligible patients are bulk billed. In some situations, a private fee may apply depending on the consultation, appointment type and the treating doctor's clinical judgement.
The Medicare rebate does not always cover the full cost of providing medical care. The difference between the total consultation fee and the Medicare rebate is your out-of-pocket cost.
Medicare rebates are set by the Australian Government and do not always reflect the full cost of delivering modern general practice. Private fees help support longer consultations, experienced clinicians, nursing care and the ongoing operation of the practice.
After your account is paid, we can usually submit your Medicare claim electronically. Medicare then pays the rebate into the bank account linked to your Medicare record.
Some infusions, medical assessments, reports and other non-Medicare services may attract additional fees. Our reception team will explain these before your appointment whenever possible.
Many employment, insurance, legal and commercial forms are not covered by Medicare and are charged privately. Fees depend on the complexity and time required.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a fee of $50 for a standard appointment or $100 for a long appointment. Fees may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the practice.
Please contact reception. They can help you choose an appropriate appointment length and explain whether any additional fee may apply.
